Several times a day! I just say "Kiss kiss", and I usually get wet, slobbery kisses (she uses a lot of tongue)! And sometimes I just hold her and kiss her face repeatedly and she'll close her eyes and stay very still ... almost as if she's saying, "Okay ma, get it out of your system!" When I finish, she slobbers all over me to return the favor. lol Life is good.
Technically, no ... but my vet said that some parrot species (such as lovies) can "store" a bit of regurgitated liquid in their throats as a sort of lubricant at times when they eat. So, it isn't saliva but throw up ... which is really disgusting now that I think about it! lol
How cute! I am happy to see that he (she?) is growing happy and healthy! Do you think that this bird will let you hold him/her when he/she's gronw up, considering that he/she is growing so close to you?
the parents are semi-tamed, means that they won't let me hold them if they don't get cornered. But they will come and take the seeds from my fingers. I only have 1 tamed bird, Pippin. The rest 4 adults are semi tamed. As for the baby, at this age, it can't refuse anyone who wants to touch/hold it. It can't walk yet.
okeydokey, mine are just plain wild, they won't let me come too close to the cage but if I stand maybe 40 centimeters away they come and sit on a nearby stick. Just watching... Aww that little one gonna be a very nice bird when adult ^^ and pretty tamed too if you hold him much, but doesn't the parents get annoyed by you picking up their lil baby?
