Bad Girl....! :(

*poke Patsy*

... she likes biting the bars, I worry she'll accidentally eat the paint. :/

It's like my rats. I poke them when I see them doing it. They then glare at me and purposely bite the bar while I watching them just to prove that no matter what I do I can't stop them.

Different from Dogs, it seems hamsters never feel guilty of what they do... Can't blame them though for having a pea size brain... ^^"

yeah. all of my rats love to chew the bars but it's either powder or pvc coating and both are non-toxic. besides, why would cage-makers put toxic paint on the bars when rodents are notorious for chewing? :p

is that a hamster or a gerbil?

well is the paint acid free? if so, i don't think you have to worry, besides they've been chewing this long and nothing has happened.

Maybe there are these nibbing stones which they sell in pet shops. Or I think I can recall seeing them selling wood for hamsters so that they could nag on it.

I'll try to find one but it's difficult... hamsters are not as popular as dogs here as pets... <__<

D: Well... but there are a lot of other things. In cases of doubt you could take a piece of branch, clean it thoroughly and then give it to her. [Or get a wooden toy which dogs would normally use.]

not saying ur boring or anything... but most hamsters/guinea pigs bite on the bars when their teeth are growing in too much... or they are bored. ^^;

and getting them a apple tree branch, or any fruit tree branches are not poisonous. i am pretty sure of it.

my friend does it to HER rodents. She has a apple and cherry tree close to the house that she uses. also, you can go to the pet store and buy processed and clean wood. ^^

The material wont hurt her... but chewing on the bars can misalign her teeth... if that happens the teeth could grow back inside her head... and kill her

That's why when I had Cy... i kept him in a tank and changed him more often
