This is all about the non-stop struggle in our hearts about what kind of mask we need to wear every now & then... The battle happens every hour, every day... as long as we are alive. Questioning ourselves what we should do next.
"Should I do this? Should I say yes? Will they get offended if I refuse? Will they like me more if I follow what they want? Should I tell my boss he's wrong? Should I buy it now? Should I...?"
The dark dragon symbolizes our true selves, our ego, our need to be heard, to be accepted as what we are... On the other hand, the light dragon symbolizes our social masks, our uber-courtesies, our over-hypocrisies, our fear to be rejected and to lose what we have... Yes, it's about the classic battle between the ego VS the self.
If you wonder why I portray both of them as fierce dragons, not as something like: demon-angel or, beauty & the beast... it's because they both carried their own ugly & good sides. So it really depends on what context, situation till who judge/see them. It's only a matter of perception, indeed.
For example: The dark dragon is often judged as something bad by the society, something that we are told to be kept in the closet forever but it's actually the essence of our true selves... Meanwhile, the light dragon dragon, asides from how it's highly respected in the society, its hypocrisy itself is already a rotten concept to me. On another note... they both NEED TO battle fiercely, each for their own justified reasons.
So, which dragon won the battle in your heart today...?
