You have a lovely pair there! They could adapt to the new cage in less than 2 months, it could take longer, too. Just keep an eye on them while they adjust, and they'll show you when they're comfortable enough to start breeding again. Just give them time and space, and they'll go back to doing what they do best.
My word what an ADORABLE couple! And the colors together are just so amazing! We used to have a pair of the green/red/yellow lovebirds named Gem and Jewel, but Gem was hyper-aggressive and Jewel was scared to death of everything. .__. They'd mate constantly and it made Mom mad. I hope your pair are much much sweeter!
Actually Gem wasn't aggressive towards other birds (they were later adopted by another family with birds, and the birds got along fantastic!), but really wasn't nice towards people. I'm positive we would have had hatchlings as they mated very often and Jewel was always trying to build nests, but we were told by the vet we could prevent hatchlings if we kept removing her nest attempts (since we didn't want babies). Apparently most of the time they won't lay eggs if they don't have a nest because the eggs can't keep warm.
Yeah, if you went near the cage he'd deliberately come up to the edge where you were nearest and try to bite you. I guess it was just his personality, because he came from an outstanding home where he was pampered and had the same problem.
