No worries, mama! My Jo Jo is a bit of a runt too, and is much smaller than females should be. The vet said that it happens sometimes, and so long as she is healthy than not to worry! Plus, great things come in small packages! lol
No eggs, thank goodness! I hear it can be very troublesome for the bird when it does not have a mate ... with the potential hazards of egg-binding, etc. However, my vet told me to NOT have a nest environment for her. So nothing enclosed with only one in and out door. I guess that encourages their hormones to lay.
But she did take some clear marbles out of a dry-flower arrangement I had and tried to hatch those! When no babies came forth, she tossed them out of her bed and plays with them on the bottom of her cage. lol Crazy birds!
She is. I really debated about getting her a friend, but ultimately I decided against it. I wanted to be able to interact with her as though we were part of her flock, and now she has taken over and orders my husband and I around! We are thinking about getting a dog soon, but I don't think she will take to it very well ... she is SO spoiled that any attention taken from her could potentially be a real problem. She already hates it when I have anything in my hands but her fuzzy head! lol I was holding one of her toys recently (her Winnie the Pooh plushie), and she waddled up to my hands and attacked Pooh bear and kept trying to pull him away from me. I let her do it to see what would happen, and sure enough she tossed him to the floor, crawled into my hand, and started kissing my fingers! I know some birds do well with other birds or animals, but I don't think she is one of them!
